week seven picks

I have no idea what happened.

I posted the Chiefs / those people pick on Thursday before the game.

It's no longer here.  And it's not only not posted, as it was on Thursday, it's not even in the draft folder to repost.

So screw it.

The pick was Chiefs (-4) 34, those people 24.

Here are the rest of the Week Seven Picks (I'll calculate the season to date totals next week):

* Byes: Steelers, Browns, Bucs, Panthers.  If I was the Browns, I'd have fired Freddie Kitchens this week.  But then again, I'm someone who literally had to pull the car over to the side of the road because I was so completely overcome with tears of joy when Gunther Cunningham was hired as the Chiefs head coach, so what do I know.

* "Super" Cardinals (+2 1/2) 27, at Giants 20.  I kinda, sorta wish we got this one here in KC.  (We're stuck with Vikings at Lions as our noon FOX game.)  I love watching young QB -- especially talented ones -- go at it for the first time.

* at "Shane" Falcons (+3) 31, Rams 20.  It's do or die for the "Shane" Falcons.  Good luck guys.

* at Colts (-1) 35, Texans 31.  I really wish we were getting this one in KC.  (We're stuck with raiders at Packers as our noon CBS game.)

* Jaguars (-3 1/2) 24, at Bengals 10.  The AFC South is going to be one glorious clusterf*ck at 10-6, and I can't wait to see it all play out.  Also, "Good Times Game O' The Week" honors.

* at Bills 28, Dolphins (+17) 14.  Jesus Christ.  The Bills are a THREE SCORE FAVORITE!  (old lady in "gone with the wind" voice) How did we ever get here?!?!?!?!  Also, "ALF Game O' The Week" honors.

* Vikings (pick) 31, at Lions 28.  Yeah, I got nothing.  Other than Go Matt Stafford!  (If you guessed Mr. Stafford is starting for my fantasy football team, congratulations, you're a winner.)

* at Packers 31, raiders (+6 1/2) 28 (OT).  I think this will be the game of the day.  But not of the weekend.  (reader voice) huh?

* at Redskins (+10) 21, 49ers 14.  Upset O' The Week honors ... and "Empty Nest Game O' The Week" honors.  I'm rolling the dice and riding the wave that is "Sur" William Callahan's 'Skins.  Just don't surrender this week like you did your 'Huskers every week, Willy.

* at Titans (-1 1/2) 31, "Super" Chargers 20.  We need this upset.  Bury the "Super" Chargers as deep as possible, as soon as possible.  Make that Monday Nighter in Mexico so meaningless we can hold out Patrick Mahomes "Of The Chiefs" an extra week.

* at Seahawks (-4) 45, Ravens 13.  Lamar Jackson is going to be hurting come 7pm CT tonight.  And I mean hurting.

* at Bears (-3) 17, Saints 6.  A surprising defensive battle that the better team wins.  Also, kudos to FOX 4 for giving us this game instead of Ravens / Seahawks.  This one should be much more competitive (and watchable).

* at Cowboys (-3) 51, Eagles 3.  In the words of my dad, this is going to be an ass kicking of Biblical proportions.  Hide the women and children.  Dak and Zeke are going to open a can of whoop ass on the Eagles.

And finally ...

* at Jets (+9 1/2) 27, Patriots 24.  This is going to be the game of the week.  There is no logical reason to pick the Jets, other than (a) both games Sam Darnold has started, they should have won, and (b) the Patriots always sh*t the bed on the road against a divisional rival.  And it's always either the Dolphins or the Jets.  They've already won at Miami.  This is Gang Green's season.  If they win this one, to get back to 2-4?  Here's their next five: at Jaguars (winnable) / at Dolphins (they'll be favored!) / vs Giants (very winnable) / at Redskins (favored?) / vs raiders (doable!).  The Jets could very well be 7-4 entering December if they win this game.

Come on guys.  One time, with effort: (fireman ed voice) J!  E!  T!  S!  Jets Jets Jets!!!
