amazing happens on day one

If you missed today's Celtics / Bulls overtime classic to open the NBA postseason ... too bad.

Derrick friggin Rose was a man among boys today. His first ever playoff game, he drops 36 points on the defending champs, on 80% shooting from the floor, 100% shooting from the line (including two huge, clutch free throws with 11 seconds left in regulation to put Chicago up one). It was just ... amazing.

36 is apparently the 2nd highest total ever scored by a player making his postseason debut. Chris Paul had 38 last year against Dallas. Rose tied Wilt Chamberlain with his 36. That's pretty amazing company.

My man crush makes his playoff debut at 9:30 CT tonight in (go figure) the Rose Garden against the Rockets. I can't wait to see what Brandon Roy and the Blazers have in store for us tonight. (And the first game of the evening, Mavs / Spurs, figures to be another instant classic).

The NBA: Yes, it is where Amazing Happens. Daily!

(Definitely check out the replay of today's game on NBA TV when it airs this week, its worth the 3 hour investment of your time).
